Byon8, originating in the medical faculty at Linköping University, was founded in 2017 in Sweden by doctors, mathematicians and programmers. The goal then was to make healthcare, of high quality, more accessible, affordable and equal through digitization. The digitization of healthcare would take place at the individual level and the Byon8 app was developed as a result of over four years of medical research and development. The app was launched in 2020, an app that delivers personalized health recommendations, asks similar questions as a doctor and compares your symptoms with thousands of similar, confirmed, cases to find different solutions and explanations for the symptoms — without you having to wait in line for a consultation.
