LiU Invest invests in PUsensor AB
LiU Invest invests in PUsensor together with local business angels. In total, the investment amounts to two million, of which a quarter comes from LiU Invest.
PUsensor is based on research into pressure ulcers at Linköping University. Pressure ulcers cause both great suffering and substantial costs in care. PUsensor develops a device to assess the risk of a patient developing pressure ulcers. For patients at risk, preventive measures can be implemented early, before the patient develops pressure ulcers, thus reducing both suffering and costs.
Pressure ulcers are common in large parts of healthcare, not just hospital care. Up to one in six hospitalized patients today suffer from pressure ulcers, something that creates great suffering and requires large resources from healthcare. The market consists of both public and private healthcare providers, such as hospitals and nursing homes.
