Byon8, originating in the medical faculty at Linköping University, was founded in 2017 by doctors, mathematicians, and programmers. The goal was to make healthcare, of high quality, more available, accessible, and equal through digitization. The digitization of healthcare would occur on an individual-based level and the Byon8 app was developed as a result of more than four years of medical research and development. The app was launched in 2020, an app that delivers personalized health recommendations, asks questions similar to doctors, and compares your symptoms to thousands of similar, confirmed, cases to find different solutions and explanations to the symptoms — without you having to wait in line for a consultation.
