MIMSI Materials has developed a new class of transparent precision silver alloys that illustrate a breakthrough in performance, something the industry has been striving for. By strategically introducing alloying agents to the material, MIMSI has created a new way to favorably influence silver growth, where the silver film morphology provides superior optical and electrical properties. This parallels the fact that the mechanical and chemical properties are also significantly improved, as it is an alloy. Through a decade of dedicated research, originating from the Faculty of Technology and Institute IFM at Linköping University, and development, MIMSI Materials has created the first industry-validated, high-performance silver alloy to replace state-of-the-art silver layers, making available new technical opportunities in the low-E coating market.
