LiU Invest invests in Comordo

LiU Invest invests half a million kroner in Comordo Technologies, which develops a recommendation engine for providers of on-demand services such as film, podcasts, music and play channels.

ALMI and private business angels are also participating in the issue of a total of SEK 3 million. The investment will be used for marketing and sales on the European market.

The range of on-demand services with movies, music, play channels, audiobooks and more is constantly increasing, making it difficult for users to keep track of the content and find relevant titles. To solve this problem, giants such as Netflix, Spotify and Youtube are spending a lot of money to create relevance for their users through recommendations.

Comordo was founded in 2014 with the aim of commercializing the results of a study done during a thesis at Linköping University. The company has developed an engine that provides users of on-demand services with relevant and smart recommendations based on their previous consumption behavior. The engine is based on advanced mathematical and machine learning algorithms developed to find hidden patterns in the large amounts of data that customers usually possess. With this methodology, Comordo's solution creates increased relevance for end users, leading to increased loyalty and brand consumption.
