LiU Invest invests in XperDi AB

LiU Invest invests in XperDi together with a network of business angels based in Stockholm and Linköping. In total, the investment amounts to approximately SEK 750.000, of which approximately one third comes from LiU Invest.

XperDi, which is a research spinoff from Linköping University, develops and markets a CAD configurator to automate repetitive design tasks. The first version of the product is out on the market and the company already has paying customers. The automation of construction tasks leads to higher quality at a lower cost.

"We have a good and well-functioning product that meets our customers' needs," says the CEO, Albin Mannerfelt, and he continues: "The investment will be used to invest in sales and marketing and to get the company going."

LiU Invest invests in companies that are based on ideas and results that originate at Linköping University. Mehdi Tarkian, who is the founder and main owner of XperDi, is a researcher in the machine design department. He has worked for a long time on the algorithms and methods that form the basis of the product and comments on the investment: "As a researcher, you want to see that the research is useful, that's why I founded XperDi" and he continues, "At Linköping University, you are encouraged to commercialize your research and by bringing in LiU Invest as a partner in the company, it was easier for us to find business angels who wanted to invest."
