LiU Invest invests in SKAPA award winner Nano Textile Solutions

LiU Invest AB, together with the University of Borås Holding AB, invests a total of half a million in Sam Issa's company Nano Textile Solutions AB, which manufactures a textile material that can change size.

Sam Issa won with his company Nano Textile solutions the SKAPA prize 2022. The company has developed a textile that is woven with thread of heat-shrinking polymer material and thread of a conductive material where electric current can be passed through the textile to change its size. Although the idea was Sam's own, during development the company has had support from researchers at IFM, the department of physics, chemistry and biology at Linköping University.

The first application is a riding boot where the company already has a customer.

The investment is made in collaboration with the University of Borås and the company is a member of the incubator Borås Ink, which operates from central Borås in a cluster of companies, research institutes, education and business organizations with the common vision of being Europe's leading science park for textiles and fashion.

LiU Invest and the University of Borås Holding together invest half a million and additional investors will also invest in the ongoing round.
